Black Eyed Peas

8 oz Bacon
1 package Fresh black-eyed peas, (11 ounces)
1 cup Canned chicken broth
1 cup Water
1/8 tsp Pepper
1 tbsp Soy sauce
1 tbsp Ketchup
2 tbsp Chopped green onions, for garnish


1. Cut bacon into 1/2 inch pieces crosswise

2. In a large skillet, brown bacon over high heat, stirring continuously. Drain on a paper towel covered plate.

3. In a pot, combine peas, bacon, and the rest of the ingreients (except green onions). Cover and bring to a boil over high heat, then turn to med-low heat and cook for 30 minutes. Stir and check liquid.

4. Garnish with green onion and serve.
