Texas Sheet Cake

Ingredients

2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
3 sticks butter or margarine
1 cup water
1/2 cup cocoa
2 eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
6 tablespoons milk
1 box powdered sugar

Instructions

1. First Part - Set aside in a large mixing bowl:
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
2. Second Part - In a medium sauce pan, bring to a boil:
2 sticks margerine
1 cup water
1/4 cup cocoa
3. Third Part - In a mixing bowl, beat together:
2 eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
4. Mix all three parts togehter in the large mixing bowl. Batter will be hot and runny.
5. Pour into a greased 9 x 13 baking pan or pyrex dish.
6. Bake at 350 in glass or 375 in tin until toothpick comes out clean (usually about 25 - 30 minutes). Have icing ready when cake is removed from oven.
7. Icing - In a saucepan, combine and bring to a boil:
1 stick margerine
1/4 cup cocoa
6 tablespoons milk
When boiling, mix in one box of powdered sugar.
8. Spread on warm sheet cake.
