Mom’s Apple Crisp

Ingredients

6-8 large tart cooking apples, pared, cored, and sliced
½ cup orange juice
1 cup sugar divided
½ teaspoon cinnamon
¾ cup flour
¼ teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons butter

Instructions

1. Grease 11x7 baking dish

2. Layer apple slices on bottom of baking dish

3. Pour orange juice over apples

4. Combine ½ cup sugar and ½ tsp cinnamon and sprinkle evenly over apple slices

5. Combine ¾ cup flour, ¼ tsp salt and ½ cup sugar. Cut in 6 tablespoons butter into flour mixture until crumbly and spoon mixture over apple slices.

6. Bake at 350 degrees until apples are tender and crust is crisp and lightly browned (about 50 minutes)

7. Serve warm or cold with vanilla ice cream
